Meet Our Mascot: Eve

Eve: First Sketch

Our initial idea was to have a character interacting with our planet logo while being affected by zero gravity. We really wanted to stay on brand with our space theme.

Initially, we wanted a way to tell our story that was unique. As we brainstormed, we eventually stumbled all the way back to the early 2000's and remembered a little midnight TV network called Toonami. Filled with early 2000's animation, memorable drum and bass, and an anime lineup that was out of this world, Toonami did something that no other TV network did. It told a story through a character named TOM. TOM and Toonami were one in the same. You couldn't have Toonami without TOM and vice versa.

We wanted to pay homage by having our own TOM. But how?

Looking through hours of Toonami intros and market research, we came up with the idea of a space pilot. This pilot would help tell our story by having their own adventures that were parallel with major business milestones or announcements. What better way to tell the world that we have cool cards by showing our pilot fighting off space pirates to get them.

With this starting point, we went to work.

Create a Story and Mission Statement

First, we defined our stories truth and lie to help guide both our character and mission statement.

Our Business Truth (Mission Statement):

“Changing the way collectible game stores operate.  We stand above the rest and want our chance to prove it.”

Our Story’s Truth (Character Development:

“Outpost with a vision to push the boundaries of what is possible.  We respect the foundation, but we the brave strive for something more.  We need those who are willing to venture out across the galaxy to help feed that vision and show that this vision can become a reality for others.”

Our Business Lie (What We’re Trying to Prove Wrong):

“Just another game store with inflated prices and catering to scalpers.”

Our Story’s Lie (What We’re Trying to Prove Wrong):

“All outposts are in it for themselves.  They just want to pillage the resources that our galaxy can provide.  There is no vision of the future.  Only the here and now. Let the residents feel that we are the only ones they can go to, and that we always offer what is fair and just.”

Now with our mission statement and story defined, it’s time to introduce Eve!

Evelyn “Eve” Anatolia

After setting the stage, we now needed to bring in our character. We wanted Evelyn “Eve” Anatolia to be more than just a pretty anime girl. We wanted her to be the linchpin that would allow us to expand our business in different directions that other collectible stores can’t. In addition to selling cards, we want to sell merchandise, tell stories, and engage our community in creative ways. With the help of our digital artist Jin Amber and voice actor Dahlia Vianne, we were able to accomplish these goals in spectacular fashion.

What’s Next…

With Eve by our side, we can’t wait to see what new and exciting opportunities are waiting for us. We know that we have something truly special that sets us a part from the rest. We welcome you to our corner of the galaxy…
